Honest Review || Badshah – Genda Phool

From a producer’s point of view, Badshah does make catchy and fresh tunes. But to claim sole ownership for creating this song, is a little over-the-top ignorance, which you would see in someone like Anu Malik.

Taking inspiration from the west is completely different from stealing from your own and calling it yours.

This is not even a case of ‘sampling’.

The only original thing Badshah has done with this is, he has added a beat and included some mediocre bars (rap) to it.

The hook is the most important part of this song, through which Badshah is trying to woo the Bengali audience.

The sad part is that there’s no mention of the female singer who sings the hook and neither has Badshah given credit to the original composer of the song  (Ratan Kahar) , and even if the female singer is Jacqueline then you can imagine how selfish and self-centred the music industry is.

This whole scenario highlights the rotting of authenticity and credibility in the industry, and how new artists focus more on likes and views and subscribers instead of the music they create.
